The challenge
Cavaliere, High Street, Dalkeith is a family-run bustling Italian restaurant. Their space as a blank canvas is relatively plain with low ceilings. The need was for outstanding quality to transform this space whilst making use of showcase lighting and exquisite finishes to providing an atmosphere of elegance and tradition.
Our expertise
We worked efficiently to undertake wall preparation and skimming. Existing wallpaper was stripped. Areas of woodwork for French polishing were stripped and sanded. It was also vital to protect the beautiful floor. As always, preparation was key. Preparation was followed by painting, including ceilings, using Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion in Matt. We sourced and hung luxury designer wallpaper from Italy, as well as undertook decorative Victorian plaster coving installation. Furthermore, we completed high standard French polishing to the existing doors using Morrells Wood Stain and Lacquer. We also used gold-effect paint on the external woodwork at the restaurant front.
